Boys & Girls Clubs of South Africa
Boys & Girls Clubs of South Africa is comprised of a head office and the local Clubs that run programs for young people each day. Our first Clubhouse is in Pimville, Zone 2 and our second is on its way in Protea Glen, Soweto. We are based on the Boys & Girls Clubs of America model, which is one of the largest youth development organizations in the world. We utilize their endorsement and technical advice in our South African operations.
What we do:
Boys & Girls Clubs are facility based after-school programs, for young people between the ages of 6 – 19, supervised by trained professional staff providing daily structured programs and activities Monday – Friday from 14h00 to 18h00.
Clubs are a positive place for kids where members can explore their talents and abilities in a supportive environment with the potential to transform a young person’s view on life creating a culture of opportunity and success.
To inspire and enable young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as healthy, responsible, and productive citizens.
We envision a future in which Boys & Girls Clubs of South Africa serves as a national organization providing resources and support to a network of facility based after-school programs throughout the country.
We are governed by a Board of Directors that includes six people representing corporate, non-profit, and community interests. Our Board Members are:
→Allan Dando, Chairman of the Board, Tupperware Brands Southern Africa
→Ahmed Bull, Tupperware Brands Southern Africa
→Ingrid Hindley, Blue Label Telecoms
